Makin' Bacon... at the Herbfarm

Bacon Lovers,

Here's a great example of how the Pig is top of mind at local restaurants!  The Herbfarm: www.theherbfarm.com is a fantastic restaurant in Woodinville that specializes in fine dining dedicated to local, sustainable ingredients.  And it just so happens that this month that includes our favorite food the Pig!

See below for a copy of their current menu.

Mmmvelopes

Another good one from one of our guest contributors, Jon.

------------

If you're the type of person that still sends correspondence via snail mail, and you like the taste of bacon — and really, who doesn't? — then you need to grab yourself some Mmmvelopes ($7/25). These standard-size, bacon-looking envelopes echew the nasty and potentially deadly glue of old for a new adhesive that tastes just like real bacon. Just don't forget the postage.

Swine Fans,

Ever had the pleasure of dining on an entire roasted Swine? Well I had the fortunate opportunity on Friday to partake in an entire pig courtesy of Kau Kau BBQ: www.kaukaubbq.com. Here's a picture of their succulent roasted pig:

For the curious Kau Kau is a pidgin slang Hawaiian term meaning "food, meal, or to eat".

Used In A Sentence: My maddah wen make some ono kine kau kau. You like?
In English?: Would you like to eat some of the delicious food my mother prepared?

Okole Maluna!

Luger's

Welcome all ye' faithful - Thank you for joining the blog and enjoy!

This week I had to give you an image of the BEST piece of bacon I've ever had! That's right, this swine comes from Peter Luger's in New York City. I was privileged enough to enjoy a fine meal at Luger's and on the recommendation of Jon Guljord (thanks again Jon) we ordered this savory appetizer. Alongside this 2in. thick piece of goodness is a tomato on top of a raw onion, covered in a sweet bar-b-que sauce. If you ever get a chance to go to NY I highly recommend this modest but fantastic joint.

To hear some commentary on the bacon and our dinner feel free to check out my video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRBIpAZV7FA

Cheers,
Adam
